Don McKenna has spent the majority of his career in various roles of the construction, carpentry, and home building industries, laying a strong foundation for his contributions to HIP.

He began his career working for Olson and Borkland, a company that ran a team of general contractors and bricklayers. He then moved on to take a position as a Superintendent for Lawn Builders, where he was responsible for a team that built houses, apartments, and condos in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. In 1975, Don formed his own company, Don-Lyn, that built custom homes and developed properties. After a brief hiatus when he took some time to work at the Chicago Stock Exchange, Don went back into remodeling and rehabbing homes on an independent basis until he joined HIP in 2007.

Don is responsible for overseeing the on-site work of HIP. He evaluates customers’ needs, leads the process of creating a solution to these needs, and oversees HIP’s team of workers throughout the completion of each of jobs that HIP undertakes.
